Mazda Furai.........and some time spended reading Automobile Year 09/08

A picture of this was on a book i recently read and it instantly caught my mind and refreshes my mind bout it....

The car was called Mazda Furai (风籁) and is based on the Courage C65 chasis from Le Mans series. Its powered by a R20B 3-Rotor Rotary Engine and is pumping out 450 horsepower...

Unlike many concept cars, the Furai is fully functional and is currently being tested at various tracks. It has run at Laguna Seca and Buttonwillow.

Head designer, Laurens van den Acker, has stated in an interview with Top Gear magazine that there are possibilities of the Furai being used for racing in Le Mans, and he also has strong hopes that the car could be brought to the market.

Pics from the book, it was called Automotive Year 09/08...

The Citroen GT which was produce for the Gran Turismo 5 game a little bit similar with the S2000 GT1 built by Amuse on the persuasion and the design from the producers of the game itself. (I once tell someone Facebook that they were not built for Gran Turismo 5 so it seems i made a bit mistake. Sorry T.T~) The book quoted:

" Light-years from the everyday concerns of Citroen, this project was brought no fruition in conjunction with Polyphony, for the latter's Gran Turismo 5 video game. Drafted under the authority of desgner Gilles Vidal, with Takumi Yamamoto in charge of exterior design and Pascal Grappey of interior design, the sports coupe exalts the most outrageous styling cues with expressive delight. The prototype was elaborated by Estech, who borrowed the chassis and suspension components from a replica Ford GT40, and the car will be powered by a fuel cell. The cockpit is stunning, thanks to the use of a stereo-lithographic technique capable of producing complex shapes with a nickel or copper-effect finish. In these forbidding times, it's reassuring to see Citroen turning its hand to an exercise of this type. "

The iPhone turns out to be a big hit (and so it is!) with Land Rover having implement a iPhone start up system in their LRX concept model.....so if your iPhone is stolen would that means u can't start your car up?

It even feature the Ferrari California

And on Motorsport section (yes the book has a Motorsport section) features all the F1 cars individually, and here is the MP4-23, piloting by Lewis Hamilton and Heikki Kovalainen.

And here is a A1GP car for next season, it will be powered and designed by Ferrari and will be use on all teams.

Engine is a V8 from a 430GT, pumping out 600 HP...

And speaking of the devil~Ferrari 430GT

And some Rally coverage, which combines Utterly Ridiculous Bravery + Insane Speed + Torque Pumping Machine + Unbelievably Scenic View = R.A.L.L.Y

  2. I'm quite indifferent to all the other rotary family members... But I loves the Furai... Just look at it! It's like the engineers did their thing then let a 5-year old kid loose on it.

This is how insane, sports cars should look like.
