Match day with Evergreen 10

It was H22-L16 today, which means the highest it's gonna be is 22 degrees and the lowest, 16 degrees, so if u dun know how cold it is ? Picture ur in a room with a 20 degrees air conditioning on and a fan spinning at max volume....haha thats how cold it is today ....

We had a match with REVO today, which is a top table team, my conclusion for them is that they aren't too bad for a match, but was neither good as well. They control the ball quite well on their midfield and strikers, but always take too long to finish, while their defence were abit weak, but we didn't have the enough firepower to take them on.....

Still i can't figure out why our team wont utilize the long shot technique, our team has quite some old players, and stamina isn't their forte to be honest, so playing long shot is quite a good way to go actualy as :

1. We dun have physical strength
2. We dun have good ball possession skills
3. We dun have alot of stamina to maintain ball possession
4. We dun have too much players with the speed and stamina to make runs into the box

By playing a one-two long shot technique, we can

1. Maintain stamina to rob possessions
2. Lessens pressure on all players
3. Minimizes the chance of physical contact
4. Constant pressuring on opponent's defense and offense, as the opponent's offensive side wont have much ball for them to counter attack, and this may gradually induces desperation and loses of motivation
5. Constant bombarding the goal, 10 long shot tries have more percentage to score then 5 bad runs into the box
6. Total Football is possible, as the defensive players can share the burden of attacking as well as the strikers can share the burden of defending

We're always playing the same ol playing style, that just wont work with the level of physical and skill our player have overall now....but then again, we'll improve for sure !

Today we lose 3-2 to REVO, but it was a good match though, i pull out a few good saves, but still i can't prevent some in.....$!@!%

Training 12 & 13

This is an unusual post, as first, Tuesday i was too tired and that i gotta get sleep early cuz i gotta work on Wednesday, and Thursday, well yesterday, again, i got so exhausted i just can't be bothered @@ sorry guys ~~~ so i'll just combine both post into one post easy ~

Tuesday is my first training session with the Thirds, which is sorta like their Youth Team. And it really does felt more relax and not as tension as the Firsts. Basically there's the Firsts, which is the Senior Team, then there is Reserve, which is like Senior's Team's sub players, and Thirds, the Youth Team.

Firstly on Tuesday we did this ~

Which is basically, you start from the bottom left Red Square, move up to go zig zag across the Green Dots, up to the Red Square, and go to front and back across the Blue Dot, means u first run to the first dot, thn reverse to the second, and run to the third and so on. Then go sideways across another set of Blue Dot, and thn went on to the ladder, which step in with one foot at the time. Repeat this for 5 times, and then 4 times WITH A BALL. It amazes me how difficult it is ! Most of us, including the experienced guys, all were like kids with a ball down there, it is sooo unimaginably difficult, if your planning to become like C.Ron, master this first... and after that we have a short game stint, and it was pretty so-so but things change for Thursday ~

Thursday we first have a fast sprint session first, where we need to sprint 60M for like 5 times and then do a 40M sprint for like 5 times as well, on my first run, bam, my thigh is finish ~ cuz on Tuesday we did the same thing at the finish of the game, then i have already pulled my thigh muscle i think, so this time it really wasn't goin to give in, i can use no energy at all, i can run slowly, but not sprint.....so i ended up just did 2 big laps of the field to make up for the runs, weirdly, the 2 laps doesn't seem to have a big effect on me~ its like my stamina has increased dramatically ^^ Then we did a practice session of attacking

First we have a goalpost with me again, looking sweaty this time, and with 3 spots marked by the Red Square 1 2 and 3, with players a,b, and c. Blue dot is the BALL.

Firstly, player b will pass the ball to on coming player a, which at the same time, player c make his run into the middle.

Upon one touch, player a will pass the ball to player c which is in the middle at that time, while after initiated the first pass, player b will now proceed to run to the far side of the pitch

Again, upon one touch, player c will then send a wide ball to player b while player a and c make their run in to the penalty box after their passes with the balls.

By the time player b controls the ball he can channel up the balls to either front post (player a) or far post (player c) and then both will try to finish up in a goal, hopefully.

The training was quite good, my reflex has gone back, my ball gripping ability is now superb, everything is spot on for me now, im dying for another match with Evergreen to surprise them!

(i do realize the pictures it abit small, so do click on them to be viewed larger, sorry ~~)

Meet up with big aunt and cousin

Finally get to meet up with 大阿姨 or my mom's older sister Susan and Wayne her husband as well as Michelle my cousin, all from Singapore, here in Melbourne.

As Michelle is going to study here at La Trobe, they came over to help her fill in as well as getting all the procedure complete. Feels so good to see them again, as i wasn't always been able to see them as they sometimes only comes down to Msia once a month during X'mas, or sometimes didn't at all, so i didn't quite really know them that well, and probably that adds up to the closeness we have.

We had a good lunch near La Trobe, had some Malaysian and Singaporean dishes, we have a Special Mandarin Beef as well as a Mix Vegetables with Beef while they enjoyed a plate of Spicy Mussels, which they say is really good. And the dishes is quite good as well, as the portion is quite large, so i think the price is worth it..... And then we went to do shopping for picky-ol-Michelle, which was sooooo fussy bout lot of things ~~~ hahah no la jk jk.

Training 11

Woke up at 6 get ready for work, only finished untill 5pm, get on the train, off to Richmond, take the bus, go to Clifton Hill, thn get off there to switch to another bus, and get off at La Trobe, walk a 10 minute road, run for a 5 minute road and ended up getting there late by 10 mins. Still.......

We have a match today...between the thirds and second. As what i can say was i was so fucked up, i hardly get any kicks successful, i even had a dreadful goalkick that only gone as far as 10 meters.......unbelievable........when im playing with Evergreen, my kick was as good and confident as i can get, but that day it was just plain shit for me. Second half we had some change of players, and things went abit well from there on. I had a few good saves, but i couldn't get one ball that was flying up just above my hand, i knew i had a hand on it, but it still went it, i duno why.... Its hard to see all the players get their heads down cuz of you. How you've lose your respect and trust from your teammate, and how everyone gotta take care of you instead of me taking care of these guys, i mean tats what GK does, they provide a sense of confidence, hahahaha wel, for the past few years i have played, confidence wasn't a word that was tied up with me...........

Owh well, what past is past, you just can hope for more and more improvement by more and more training....

Started working !!

Job - something man must conquer, and something man must have, as well as something all man hates hahahah.

Finally i got my job placement, which is abit similar to job trainings, at a automotive workshop near Clayton, thank god for my teacher Mirko to noticed me and took my request for granted that now i have a workshop, that, couldn't get any better, i have 2 great boss, that does mechanical AND electrical, just perfect.

Far far away, theres a workshop little Lippy works in, which tooks him 1 hour so to get there. Yes, they sometimes call me....Lippy....dun ask why...... anyyyyywayyy, its a fairly huge shop, with 4 cars inside and still pretty much room left going around. The boss Ali who deals with mechanical and Suvad who deals with electrical are both very good person, they dun get up on your ass for nothing and they teach you quite alot as well, from the first day on. On my first day i was already doing tires and battery and stuffs, which is great, as some workshop might have u do just cleaning for half a year !

Training 10

Training today (actually is ysterday. but as im too tired i save it for today) was quite tiresome actually. Cuz as we started slight warm up, we go onto another sets of 'warm-up', im not sure whether its a running session or really a 'warm-up' session, cuz if its really just a 'warm-up', thn i don't know what kind of shit the pro's are doing now for just warm up.

The diagram above is one of these, 'warm ups from hell'. There is 4 cones, 2 Whites and 2 Yellows marked by A, B, C and D. To simplify things and make a more creative drawing (hehehehe) i used black as my blackground as u can sees it more clearly i think and i've put on sequences (1,2,3,4...)on what we do first, followed by second, and then third...and etc. So first we run from the A to the B (1) , back to A again (2), and then to C (3), back to B (4), thn to the last cone D(5), then to cone C (6), back to cone D (7), and then to B (8), back to C (9), then to the first cone A (10), to cone B (11) and finally ends with another run back to A (12). Think this is hard???? We gotta do 3 times =.=, the range from cona A to D is approx 50 meters, while the closer cones A to B or C to D is just approx 10 meters.

Next we did this which i have done before, it consists of a square marked by 4 cones, cones 1, 2, 3 and 4. We need to run from cone 1, to 2, 3 then 4, and then (follow the red line) go to 2, thn 3, then back to 1, which at this point, u finished 1 round. We need to finish 6 rounds to be counted as 1 set. In the end we did 3 sets of forward, and 3 sets of reverse. Reverse is also the same thing just u start from the opposite and do the opposite oni, follow my diagram and you'll be fine.

Luckily thats the end of it, but we're all having sore at our stomach muscle quite badly, but we gotta continue on anyway, first training (yup, the training oni begun) for the GKs and the Strikers (again) are, they have 5 balls line up on the ground just a little bit further from the penalty spot and the strikers must strike them into the goal, if they miss, they must run around the spot where we are having this training 1 round. Being that, now the advantage is on us keeper hehehe. We had a few good saves, and after that is the crossings from winger and finishing by strikers with us preventing them. I did some good saves. The reaction and guts to dive certainly have improved vastly, as well as my ball gripping ability, oh their back ~ haha anyway, thats all for this post, i can't write too much as i gotta go sleep now, will write on next time then.

Tml's training coverage i'll cover it on Friday nite, till then, ciao~

First Chinese New Year in Australia

Finally~~~~the 21st Chinese New Year in my life, dad says lots of ang paus back in Msia waiting for me ^^ hiak hiak hiak ~~~ hahahahhahhaa

Apparently even Korea celebrate CNY as well, as being told by my friend TJ, i was surprised~ and we start things off with a steam boat (reminds me of Siang our steamboat days T.T.

Anti-clockwise, Victor with the chopsticks, Allan, Ken and Fiona (thanks !) Rina, Eason and David (i think....)

I was too bz digging in and forgotten to snap some other pics. But we have some better than traditional food and it was a heaven for me ~ still i dun think i eat enough that day as everyone was finishing up early and i couldn't dare continue to eat alone as if i was the king... but anyway ~~~~

Being first time in oversea wasn't so bad after all~ they have even more 'livelier' atmosphere than us, where CNY back in S.Petani was just all about holidays and illegal fireworks not to mention reunion gathering but still~ its all bout the fireworks huh boys ~ and here the 14th of February Melbourne is totally different. It was people packed and the whole city literally looks like Chinatown ~ but i have to admit, this is the first time i have a rather cold CNY hahaha. But nonetheless, this is some pics i found on the web (cuz it was so crowded, for those that have a good spot they wont barge, for those that didn't they make you can't have a good spot, so i couldn't take anypictures at all....)
This is Flinders Station, the central of Melbourne, where all train meets here.

Im feeling pretty good already for this year. As i had some quite good news already in the past week ^^ for my 2010 resolution ( or revolution?), well more like my first resolution, is, NO RESOLUTION AT ALL! hahaha, eat more, sleep more, enjoy more.......play more i suppose but we'll see about that hahaha, well i'll definitely try to improve my reading as im reading too slow now, make those legs fly high in the air and those arm grip them ball as hard as Neova is to the ground, good health for family and friends and everyone reading, but nonetheless
平平安安, 顺顺利利, 万事如意, 恭喜发财!!!~~ (hope things go peacefully, smoothly, everything happens according to your wishes, and may you have a prosperous year of fortune!)

Rained heavily right before training and during training, soaking wet, all soggy, beat up, and tired at the end T.T....and fuckin itchy too! Luckily we did keepers today, but it was fuckin tough and demoralizing as well......

The rain T.T....thank god for the Melbourne drought...but no thanks for me T.T"...

Raining...

Raining heavily...

We start of the day with some intensive warm up and i was beforehand, prior to Training 8, drafted into the top 36 group within the 60 group people, and are going to train with all the big boys. We starts of with some warm ups, and then put onto a circular, with 13 ppl AROUND the circle with a ball, and 13 ppl IN the circle, and the ppl IN the circle will have to run to the ppl AROUND the circle, the ppl AROUND the circle will pass the ball to the running players, and receive back from the running player, and the running player continue to other ppl AROUND the circle. There is no specific target so the person ur running to is totally random, which means u syok, u run to ur friend, thn u no syok u run to other friend.

After that we did chest control, thn pass back. Then control ball with both thighs, thn pass back, so this the player actually distributes the ball twice, once to the left thigh, once to the right thigh. Then heading the ball down to the feet of the distributor of the ball. All this is done with rotation, which means after awhile, players that is AROUND the circle will change to IN the circle.

After that, we got divided into different groups, with strikers and goalkeepers are in the same session today.

What we have today, is, the red square is the Screen. Screen is a position similar to defensive midfielder, which is the midfielder rite on top of the defenders, and is usually the one that is orchestrating both the attack and defense, and thus, is usually the position a team's captain plays, example: Roy Keane. Anyway, the red dot is the Link, which is a position in between the midfielders, they are not attacking midfielders as well, as their work is more to distributes ball and overlapping support. So again, we have the Red Square and the Red Dot, and 2 Red Dot on the goal side which is Defenders (which is consists of us GKs anyway as we take turns), Black Dot on the sides are Wingers, while the 3 Black Dots in the middle are the strikers.

First, the Link will pass the ball to the Screen, and on first touch the Screen will play a long deep pass to the edges of the pitches, and the winger will then starts the run to intercept the ball.

And the Strikers will start a run on their own too across the right cone and over to the goal side to connect with the cross, which will be made by the winger once the timing is correct. And hopefully, ends in a goal. The attack will rotates from starting from the left side, then to the right side, in which the ball will be play the opposite way, to the Left Winger, Strikers run to the left cones and up.

After that, we have 2 player on the Red Dot on the sides of the goal, playing as a passer or a ball distributor, and a Screen as the Red Square, and the Black Dot as the Strikers.

One of the distributor, in this case the left one, will pass the ball to the Screen, and the Screen will pass the ball to the sides according to the Striker's preferred leg, if the Striker is left footed, right side, if he's Right footed, left side. In this case, our Striker is left footed, so the ball will be pass to the right side, and the Striker will finish with a shot. Again, left and right rotational after each turn.

The last one is we have the Strikers line up behind two players, in this case, Red Square.

The Red Square will pass the ball to each other and then pass to the center and the Striker will finish from that spot.

Today's training is more emphasized on Strikers more than GKs. And plus the condition of today's weather and pitch, its really isn't the most ideal condition u wanna play in. But nonetheless, we did alot of work though. Alot of diving and stuffs, i STILL have a hard time getting my feet off the feet to mid air ~~ but then again no one did anything like that either but im just so damn fed up with myself, how come im such a loser!! I'm still wonder wat does my body or my mind is fear about. Other than that, i had a swollen little finger becuz of a wet ball slipping off my hand and hit the finger straight on. Its been quite a long time since i had one of these, and i forgot how hurt it can get. Mind you other then the thumb, all my other fingers, both hands have experienced this haha, as well as both ankles....

Overall, i wasn't so satisfied with today's training, there's just too much dead balls and stuffs, other goalies were struggles as well midway after as the strikers have adjusted and have found their touch. Top right and left corner was keep getting bombarded with balls and shots, its just so hard to get to those corners.

But still, i have to and will get better !
