Wangan Midnight: The Movie
The film is a adaptation from a comic and anime, with the same name Wangan Midnight.
I havent seen the anime nor the comic, but it was produce and made by the same team that gives us Initial D, dun be fooled as to think that from Initial D's film adaptation's case that this would be something similiar, no, its way better.The story resolves around Akio Asakura and his Nissan Fairlady Z or Nissan 240Z, the first Fairlady in Nissan, and he's highway battle with a Porsche 911 Turbo, or Blackbird in the series. Judging from i've never see the true story before, i think the whole film did so-so in terms of story.....it was quite boring at sometimes, and the racing scene was spectacularly special as well, but then again, a highway battle, its quite hard to make it 'interesting' rite? But, least there's no shaky scene, u can really see the car as steady as it was, and admire the beauty of the car. As a anime/comic-movie adaptation movie, i think it did pretty well, its this kind of movie and standard that all adaptation movie should have, i do realize that at some of the first scene Akio was driving a Z32 instead of a Z31 as in the anime, and Reina drives a R34 instead of a R32 i believe?? Correct me pls~ and i don't quite sure whether there are any other changes nor does the story really do stick well to the original storyline, but am very please with it^^ As a movie for newcomers, i think it has done a good job........and to be honest am looking forward to it.....pls o pls, Jap? Make a adaptation of Initial D and pls o pls, no Jay Chou in it pls~~?
Overall, Wangan Midnight : The Movie, 7/10.
